Beverly Youth Hockey Pee Wee 1 Panthers Sweep March Meltdown Hockey Tournament
During the weekend of March 7 - 9, the Pee Wee 1 Panthers from Beverly Youth Hockey secured the Pee Wee Level A championship trophy at the "March Meltdown" hockey tournament in Waterville Valley, NH.  The Panthers represented the program well and swept all opponents on its way to the title.  Beverly defeated Haverhill in the opening game of the tournament by a 5 - 1 score.  The team continued to roll with a 10-0 blowout of the team from MassCon in the second game which secured them a spot in the championship.  After jumping out to a quick 2 - 0 lead, Beverly played solid two-way hockey the rest of the way and secured a hard fought 4 -3 win over Winthrop in the title game.  Solid goaltending efforts were turned in by Bryce Mitchell and Bailey MacBurnie for the Panthers.  Excellent teamwork and two-way efforts were provided by the following Beverly tourney participants - Jack Atherton, J.J. Bachini, Brendan Boyle, Graham Doherty, Matt Hamor, Connor Irving, Ted Leathersich, Bailey MacBurnie, Brady McLaughlin, Bryce Mitchell, Jack Morency, Sean Munzing, Patrick Porter, Ryan Shipp, and Jake Straw.  The Panthers were coached by Gary Munzing, Bill Boyle, and Jeff MacBurnie.
